  Fast & Flat, but very dull course

  I have to admit that I did not enjoy this marathon. The only saving grace was that I beat my goal due to the course being extremely flat. That being said, everything else was really sub-par. The course was extremely boring to me - very few spectators, no music or entertainment and the long stretches on Kings Hwy and Ocean Avenue left much to be desired, passing by seedy bars and seafood restaurants. The expo was VERY small with very little interesting merchandise. The post-race food was ok - typical fare, but given the entry fee of this race ($100), I was pretty disappointed. My friend, who has run many marathons said that this was the worst one she has done. I spoke with others after who said the same thing. I won't be doing this on again, that's for sure. I'm giving it 1 star only for the fact that it's a flat, fast course.
