Big Sur 10.6 with Michele and Maggie
This was great fun right from the expo to the wicked bacon infused waffle I had for my post-race brunch!
The 3 of us were running the 10.6 miles together & sharing a hotel room, Maggie & Michele said I didn't snore - that proves how nice they are!
We also had a pre-race dinner with some other Nike+'ers - Judi, Matt & Victor who were running the full marathon and Tammy who was injured and spectating. Maggie & Michele took their lives into their hands and let me drive them to that in P's mini whilst he was smashing my car up in a carpark in San Francisco.
The weather was typically foggy to start, but then it got uncharacteristically sunny which was lovely. It was Maggie's first event over 5k and she's been a bit under the weather recently so we were simply aiming for a happy finish with some fun photos and that is exactly what we achieved :-D

Big Sur International Marathon- DNF
So it was a BEAUTIFUL course! A little rough at times, but I guess I was stopping to enjoy the view a little too much because I didn't make the cutoff time to finish the race. However, I was able to enjoy the part of the Original course I never had seen, conquered Hurricane Point and took plenty of pictures along the course. Plus, I had a perfect excuse to head up to Monterey for the weekend. Overall, a weekend very well spent!
