Rock N Roll Half Marathon St. Petersburg, FL
First Half Marathon? Done! I felt like I did amazingly well until mile 10-11, and was able to pace myself to keep running the entire time, only stopping at the water stations to walk and drink. After the 10 mile marker I started to fatigue, and I knew I hadn't trained enough. Half of my foot cramped so bad momentarily that I thought I had tripped on something. I walked, focusing on my body. At mile 12 my calves started to cramp. Bad. I stopped to stretch on curbs, but it was futile. I walked mile 12 almost totally. My hips and hamstrings burned, the tops of my feet and ankles screamed. Then I saw the chute, and ahd the throngs of people and I knew I couldn't walk across the finish line. I jogged, calves rippling with cramps threatening to land me on my face...and then I crossed the finish line.

The race
This was an ok race however not sure if I will do another RnR race because everything had a FEE. $15 to park for Expo, had to purchase shuttle ticket to get back to the race-WHY wasn't it FREE since you did the race and also had to pay to park on race day again. Tracking--friends had to pay $2 per person--OMG why all other races are FREE. The course was great but it was a very cold race that day and the course did not have many porta pots to go to the bathroom which is not good for any runner.
