Mercedes Marathon 2012

Just Finish!
Glad I was able to finish :-) My body felt good except I believe I aggravated my hernia issue. No cramps, but at mile 14 I knew I had an issue so I ran with PAIN in my groin area the rest of the race. I need to get healthy period. Got an appointment with my surgeon this month. He didn't want me to run because he believes he may need to take the mesh out and have it replace with natural material and not synthetic. Too much info and too many excuses I guess. My time was horrid :-) HOWEVER, never quit, just finish works for me.
I believe the organization was great. Didn't hang around for the festivities, had to get back to GA. The crowds were motivating, but a bit scarce. It's like that when you are bringing it up from the rear :-) I'm glad to count AL for my quest for 50 states. I really liked the bling and hat awards.

Mercedes Half Marathon
walked 99% of the race. IT band pain very bad. Had fun and met lots of great people! A finish is a Finish!!!!
