    Pineywoods Purgatory - Awesome event!

25, 53, 72, or 100 mile loops through beautiful East Texas country. Wonderful volunteers supplied snacks and beverages at well-spaced rest stops, strong law enforcement presence protected riders at all major intersections, and a free fajita lunch made this an event I'll be at year after year. Nothing bad to say.

    Awesome Event!

This was my first long distance ride, but it certainly won't be my last. By offering 25, 52, 72 and 102 routes, the Pineywoods Purgatory has something for everyone. I completed the 25 mile route and while it was challenging at some points (they aren't kidding about those "gently rolling hills") I was able to finish strong. A big help was the rest stops the ride organizers provided. Spaced about 10-12 miles apart, and featuring drinks and lots of food, they made it possible to really enjoy the scenery of the area. Also, the meal at the end of the ride was a great way to end the day.

Overall, this was an A+ event and I recommend it to anyone who likes to ride their bike.
