Description:

The Marathon is a point to point course, beginning in Rochford; home of the MoonShine Gulch Saloon and the University of Rochford. After a quick run through town, you find yourself on the George Mickelson Trail and on your way to Deadwood. The Half Marathon starts on the trail..., 13.1 miles from Rochford.   Deadwood 2007

  I did this trail race last summer (2007). The course was nice, and it was quite sunny that time of year. There were some inclines, but they were not steep. The trail is crushed limestone, so it is not single track or anything very technical. I would carry my own liquids if I did it again, because I would have appreciated a few more aid stations. The finishers medal is fantastic and the town of Deadwood is wildwest fun.
