Brief Description
The Hum...an Race was started in 2002 by the Haywood County Volunteer center as a major source of financial support for the Center. For four years, the race was centered around The Shelton House with a hilly course. In 2006, the race moved to the Waynesville Middle School and now features a very fast and flat 5K course in Waynesville and Hazelwood.
Course
This is the fastest and flattest race in WNC during the month of June - the perfect opportunity to set a personal record. It is a lolly pop shaped loop that starts and finishes near Waynesville Middle School.

Overall male & female Overall Masters male & female Top 3 in following age groups: 10 & Under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over (no double-dipping)

Directions from Asheville - I-40 West to Exit 27 (Turns into US 19/23/74) - Exit 100, Turn Left - Left at first signal (Sulphur Spring Road) - Right on Boyd Avenue - Right on Brown Avenue, School is on left, parking and track on right
