fun but could be better
this was a hard course to run, many of the steep downhills were over slippery rocks and had to be walked. I spent several minutes out in the boonies helping injured runners get to a safe spot. I think there should have been more aid staff at these spots to help, but some of these areas were not easily reached by safety crews. I was surprised there weren't more serious injuries. There were 5000-10000 runners scheduled but there weren't very many sponsors or vendors out. This wasn't a run to try to PR but to just have fun, but the fun was limited by the perils on the course, and since this attracts more of the "fun" crowd, I think a different location that has less dangers on the course would be better. They ended up canceling half of the waves on Sunday due to heat, so if this is to be run in Kansas, it should probably be in the spring or fall. I would do it again but sign up for the first heat of the first day when the course if fresh and not a complete muddy and slippery mess for the entire course.

Bummed about the water supply
Overall, really enjoyed this event. The obstacles were challenging, but not impossible. I was frustrated that so much of the course was too muddy/slick/rocky/uneven to comfortably run without risking injury. I realize that is part of the challenge, but I would have really preferred to run the entire course. The event had plenty of volunteers, and I liked that there were lots of them out on the course assisting with injuries, etc. My BIGGEST complaint- the event was held during the hottest part of the year in KC- temps were very close to or exceding 100 degrees. The event planners provided several water stations on the course but not nearly enough water at the end of the race. The small paper cups that were handed out were a joke, and they were SELLING bottled water. Shame on you, Warrior Dash people!! I will probably consider signing up again, but only if the event gets a charity partner (not just for profit) and gets there act together on the water supply...
