Felt great the whole run. Expected to make double digits before walking, but the weather and a rested body helped me keep going. Great music and cheer sections along the way.

    Great Race

Competitor did a nice job. Great course, well supported, and that 20ft/mi drop from miles 19 through 22 was a godsend. Yeah, they did start 30 min late, but oh well, gave me another chance to hit the porta potty.

The on-course support was top notch with tons of volunteers. You weren't getting lost on this one. Each mile was clearly marked with a digital clock (not sure all the clocks were synched tho'). They added an extra gel offering at mile 9 that they didn't have last year (nice)... and even a choice of flavors as you ran down the long line of volunteers. So, we got gel at 9 and 19. Some of the bands were great- and some were just, uh... loud. Themed cheerleader teams along the course- the disco one was pretty funny. Well organized finish line with good volunteers. A volunteer walked with me and watched over me for a while as I walked away from the finish line (I wonder what I looked like?), but she didn't take me directly to the medical tent, so I guess I passed inspection. Still, that level of care is appreciated and is emblematic of a well run event.

Oh- we even got the B-52's in concert afterwards. That was pretty cool. After messing up Las Vegas, Competitor did a good job with this one. Thanks for a great experience (plus a PR and a BQ!).

If I stick to my pace group, I'll be there at 10:45. If you catch me, keep me moving. ;-) Best of luck to all! (I'll have a yellow Marathon Maniacs singlet on (probably with black arm warmers at the start) - if you spot me say hi!)

Would be great to meet you too, Morey! B-52s are finish line. (Which I just realized is kind of hilarious because they number the bands along the course B-1, B-2, B-3, and so on.) Fitz and the Tantrums are playing Friday night at City Center. I'll be at both if anyone wants to say hey!
