Fun times with the Half Marathon!
I enjoyed this race. Parking was easy, bathrooms were plentiful before the race. I think it was the right size!
I liked the course- it snaked around a bit, but there were plenty of volunteers and signs to make sure we were going the right direction.
Crowds were very manageable.
Post-race the food, foil blankets, etc. were great. Even the beer garden was fun!A few suggestions: I didn't see much besides water and gatorade at the aid stations. I always bring my own gels, but was surprised at the lack of options on course. Also, what's up with the boring white cotton t-shirt? Felt a little cheated since it's almost expected with a half marathon these days to get a tech shirt. And the cotton shirt didn't even have a very cool design to it. Also, for spectators from out of town, it wasn't very clear where they could easily go to cheer us on. My mother-in-law ended up just staying at the start/finish because she was unsure of how to get anywhere. Also, suggest the half marathon start a little sooner than 1.5 hours after the marathon. Those fast guys were having to weave through all of us, and I felt bad about it.
