Hartford Marathon
I was aiming at sub-3, but I hadn't had a typical test race beforehand to gage my fitness. I maintained a ~2:58 pace until the turn-around and faced the head winds. There wasn't anyone i could draft on as it was very strung out. My fitness just wasn't there enough to compensate for the 18-20mph gusts . I suffered a plenty, especially in the final five miles, so I'm confident I couldn't have done much better than I did. The big surprise was that my time was the fastest 50+, which easily compensated for missing my goal. :-)

ING Hartford Marathon
The closest I've come to cruising a marathon. I just took it easy until mile 20 and then decided to push it a little for the last 10k.

I can't say enough nice things about this race. The entire town was excited for the race and the spectators were so cool! The weather was heavenly, too. -
