was there a new race director this year?

things felt really different this year.

start: the flow of pedestrian traffic led people to the front of the corrals first, so no one really ever filed in. the chute was really clogged and made the 10k start difficult, trying to get past 5k runners and walkers still waiting for their start. For those of us who did get in the 10k corral, there was a tent between us and the announcer and I couldn't hear anything.

course: pretty sure it was the reverse of last years course. humid, but lovable, no big hills. very well marked with people and flags at each turn.

aid: more frequent than last year, but smaller stations than in past years.

spectators: fewer than in past years. also, no separate finishing cute for survivors? I loved seeing that, and missed it this year.

race tees: my small tee seems to be meant for a small grizzly bear.

overall, I still had a good run but it felt like this was organized by someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with race start flow.

Does anyone know if there are a lot of family activities at this race? I'm running the 10K and I'm debating bringing my husband and twin 7 year olds. It's an early start, so I wouldn't want to do so unless there were something to keep them occupied. Thanks!
