Great course, very cold!
I arrived pretty late at packet pick-up. The race started at 10, I got there around 9:30. There was plenty of parking and hardly any line at packet pickup. All the volunteers were very nice and helpful.
My one gripe would be that I pre-registered and when I went to get my t-shirt, they were out of smalls and I had to live with a medium (which was still better than the usual XXXL leftovers). But as I mentioned before, I was pretty late to pickup.
It was about 12-15 degrees at race time. We were all lined up at the start line, ready to go. There was some sort of delay and we didn't start till about 10:05. They may have announced what the delay was, but me and my fellow slow runners were way in the back :)
And then we were off! The race organizers were great about directing foot traffic and holding off the cars on the road. I didn't have to wait or worry once.
The course had an uphill climb for the first mile and a half until we reached the turnaround. Then it was mostly downhills with a few upward bends. The paths were clear of snow and any ice patches were marked with cones.
The post race snacks were plentiful - lots of bagels and fruit, plenty of fluids.
Overall, the race directors did a good job. I look forward to running the rest of the Winter Distance series - the Frosty Five is tomorrow!
