Nice Surprise for A "while in town" Race
I had heard about this race in Runners World. While looking for a race to run while spending the weekend in Michigan I was pleasantly surprise to see I had lucked out on my weekend.
Wow this is a big event for just a 10 mile race ( and 5 and 8k fun runs). Awesome community support all alng the course. A challenging rolling hills course, and last half was thru very pretty neighborhoods. Weather was not near as hot as Texas but the humidity was so high I was completely drenched in sweat by mile 5.
Swag was light (cotton T-shirt) but for the lower then 1/2 marathon entry fee I guess a technicaln shirt might not be expected. Post race event was very nice although limited to one beer and slice of pizza unless you wanted to pay for more.
