    Meh.

Completely different race atmosphere and experience than the 2010 event. Almost a 180ยบ difference. Gotta say, this was a fairly poorly planned event. Aid stations ran out of water. Full marathon runners forced to weave through the slower half marathoners. Half Marathon corrals not released in waves like the paperwork sent said, forcing faster runners to also weave through slow walkers. And -- rumor has it -- that they ran out of half marathon medals. Post-run noshes lacked, and included green crunchy bananas. Little crowd control trying to get out of the runners area. Overall, felt way too forced to be "fast" so that they could open up The Strip again. Probably won't run it in 2012, and doubly so if they don't cap the participant number at something they can handle.

Marathon #12 is on the books (my 7th marathon for the year) and I ran absolutely every step of the way! I have a lot of complaints about this event, but I'll save it for a blog and simply say that I wouldn't do this one again.

This race was kind of a wreck... I'm a disappointed that my hometown race was turned into this. It had so much potential...

I ran this with my Sister Jane and my Brother Richard :) We ran it together the whole way. It was tough because there were so many inexperienced people out there. They should have made the people that were only walking be at the very back corral as we were dodging then here and there the whole race. And they didn't know enough to stay off to the side. Other than that it was great. Right up until mile 12 when it started to rain. At that point we put our outer wear back on and let pure willpower take us the last 1.1 mile to the finish line. The three of us crossed it together and I got to see the look of joy on my sister's face and the smile on my brother's face as we completed a long and difficult goal. This is the 3rd half marathon for my brother and I and we hope we inspired some of our other friends to come and run it with us next year :) I can't express how grateful I am to all of the people that supported us in so many ways throughout this whole 12 week process. Thank you all and I love you :)

I created a meetup for Saturday - http://www.dailymile.com/meetups/342-las-vegas-rock-n-roll-dailymile-meetup (also listed on the left side of the event page). Note that Dan also created a finish line meetup for Sunday. Hope to meet a bunch of you guys next month!

I still haven't heard of any official meetup information. We need to represent DM in Vegas though for sure!

Has anyone started formalizing efforts for a dailymile meetup yet? I'm game but there's still no meetup search, so if you've created one, post the link!

I'm up for it. Be nice to get a group together and get a picture before race day.

Anyone interested on doing a Daily mile meet in Vegas a day before the race?
