Summer Solstice All Nighter 2011

This is a local, non-official event. Just to get into the training and mood for an ultramarathon. The summer solstice is the longest daylight day of the year, hence the shortest night of the year. I plan to run from dusk till dawn. In coastal South Carolina I figure th...at is around 8-10 hours of darkness (still figuring that part out). The plan is to finish on the beach with beers. Do your own run with friends in your community. The date is somewhat flexible as the solstice falls midweek. May go either the weekend prior or post-summer solstice. The approximate distance to be covered is 50 miles. The route is to be determined via Google Maps and verified for personal safety and ease of pedestrian traffic. More details to come. read more
