Definitely a must-run!
Great planning, beautiful course, hot pizza at the finish... what more could you ask for in a race? Plus, drink stops always over-flowing with volunteers, lots of party stations, tons of supporters, wash-cloths, junk food, great medals, and a downhill to the finish. A great experience!

Good, bad, good.

Awesome race
The course gives provides a great mix of historic neighborhoods, scenic miles along the James River, challenging Lee Bridge with a view of the skyline, and a half mile downhill finish. This was my first marathon and I definitely picked the right one. The entire course was lined with enthusiastic crowds and helpful volunteers. Plenty of drinks and food throughout the course and pizza at the end. My favorite part was the end where you can look down the hill and see the finish line and waiting crowds. I also loved the social media aspect of this race. The organizers did a great job of communicating on Facebook and Twitter to keep everyone informed and also to build up the excitement. If you have an opportunity I highly recommend this race.

7 months ago@Stu - I know Ray was talking about making one but I haven't seen one yet. I'd say two meetups. Maybe one at the Packet Pick-Up and one at the finish? We can try to do one at the start too but I'm not sure how well that would work since I know a lot of people have their own pre-race routine.
