    What an experience!

This is a great race. The spectators come out in droves to support the runners. You'll have a terrific time and laugh all day on this flat course. Many of the runners wear outrageous costumes. Last year, I saw someone running with a mock-up of the Eiffel Tower, another dressed as Spiderman, and various animals. And thousands of volunteers pass out snacks, water, fans, etc. There is music at various mile markers to pump you up too!

The weather can be unpredictable though and manuvering around the city during the race can be a challenge. Many streets are blocked and buses are re-routed. To assist with questions, the city has police and traffic aides present.

If you are and want to support a charity , consider running with the Stomp Out Stigma team. Information is available at http://dbsa-gc.org/chicagomarathon.html

    Awesome experience

It was very exciting to do this marathon for the first time, people were cheering all the time I felt amazing and so strong until 23 mile... but.. this was because not enough training my foult but I love the expirence... The Aid service was pretty good, the streets were clean for the run, the course were very mind challenging, and the expo had everything tthat you can imaging you might need for running whether you were a beginnr or experienced runner... the medal were so pretty...
