James, do you mean to eat before or after the race? Are you a vegetarian? If not, there is this bar on Michigan Ave called Miller's. They have the greasiest yummiest burgers! Also, La Pita is excellent for Middle East fare. Don't know where you're staying, or if you'll have a car, but both of those places are relatively convenient to the race location.
I've done it several times. Great race if you don't like crowds, or cheer stations. Low participation, but also low stress, low traffic. Mostly an out and back on Hines drive from Dearborn, Mi to Livonia and back. Weather can be great or can be wet and cold. Last year was the first time they ran the 5K and 10K on the same day as the full/half marathon. It was pretty crowded at the start line, not enough port-o-johns and so on. But once on the road it was fine. Good water stations, gu provided.
