SF Kaiser Half Marathon 2011
This was my first time running SF Kaiser Permanente Half marathon course. The course was fun and scene was great since it was mostly at Golden Gate park and by the ocean. But it was not entirely flat as they say it is. The weather that day was awesome and was getting warm around 8:30am. I'm not sure if it will be like that in the future. The traffic was non existent and there were no cars to run past which was great. There was a lot of time where there were not spectators which was ok but there was a lot at the last 3 miles which helped motivate us and was fun to hear their screams. The registration fees were not as expensive as a Rock N' Roll series race but for the price I paid I expected a lot more. The race tee was a long sleeve cotton shirt and not a polyester technical shirt. Also there were no award medal. Just a plastic bag with advertising and a few sample food and energy products. I paid a similar fee for a different and smaller race and I got a technical shirt, a reusable bag, metal race medal and a water bottle.
