Verdugo Hills Trail Run
Completed the 10th Annual Verdugo Hills Trail Run this morning and placed 3rd in the men's division (also 3rd overall). The race report can be summed up in the elevation chart (http://bit.ly/d27wAC). The race ended at the pine grove at the top (1:16:17) where the Boy Scouts, Troop 201 out of Burbank, hosted the finish line/aid station/eats-n-treats at the top with some tasty breakfast burritos and other good grub. The troop was also responsible for the cool medals given out; hand cut slices of wood engraved with the details of the run (http://bit.ly/dpROc9). I spent 12:26 eating, drinking and resting before turning around and running back down the mountain. You can see the finish/rest stop in the elevation chart as the bowl in the center.
Great fun, beautiful views from the mountain (south over looking Los Angeles and north over the San Gabriel valley). Simply spectacular.
