2011 OKC Memorial Marathon
Wow, that was uncomfortable! Rain, thunder, lightening, 43 degees, hail! When I was done I could not feel my feet or hands and I was soaked to the bone. I was on target for 4:30 but cramped up at mile 21 because I couldn't stay warm. Nice to see Marlon at mile 25 something though, gave me a little extra to get to the end. I'm still cold!

2011 OKC Memorial Marathon
The volunteers & spectators were awesome, especially to brave those elements! The traffic downtown OKC was crazy today. But truley understandable because of poor weather and crowds from the marathon and Thunder playoff game.

Run to remember
The spectators were... Awesome... To stay out in the elements under those circumstances is pretty epic. For me however things went like this:
Dressed for ambient temps. Weather sites had weather coming in the afternoon. What we found however was thunderstorms at the start/throughout/end of the race.
20 MPH winds and rain are far different than 45 degrees ambient. Many of us found this to be a dangerous situation. Now hail on us at mile 16 and we're frozen. Literally running in ice water. The last 10 miles were pain, pain and more pain.
I finished, but on sheer will power alone. Medics got me and put me in the museum bathroom with the hand dryers. They saved my life.
