  Defiance 50K

  I had a great time at this race. The packet pickup went very smoothly, although once they had us all huddled up to start I could no longer hear the instructions that were being given. I really could have done without the stairs, but you have to deal with the terrain you have. There were plenty of restrooms scattered about and the crossing guards did an excellent job of keeping people on track and safe. I wandered off course twice, the first time was blatantly my own damn fault, I'm not really sure what happened the second time. 30+ miles in I was really in no condition to try and figure it out. My only thumb down would be I personally would have preferred a finisher's medal over the coffee cup. Don't get me wrong it's a real nice cup, but I don't drink coffee. The after run spread was excellent, I went to town on some watermelon and Warthogs Barbeque Pit put out some yummie sandwiches. I am really glad I decided to sign up for this race.
