RnR Savannah
I ran this race with my mom for her first half. She finished in 2:44 and I still felt pretty fresh after the race so it was kind of nice. I have vegas in a month, and actually have to run that, so I need to get some training in

Savannah Marathon experience
Overall had a great race and ran a pr even after half my gels fell out of my pocket sometime during the start/first mile - coulda/shoulda panicked but kept my cool and luckily found the gels on the course. Love that they had it set up like a water table is. I've run races before that have gels but they are really difficult to locate. In certain places the crowd support was great! Only two complaints: 1 - why did they put us on a highway from miles 21-25. There was what felt like a 20 mph headwind with nothing to block it. Very tough. Wish they would have weaved us back through town. 2 - the shuttle from the mall (which is 4 miles away) took 51 minutes!!!! Not sure how everyone got to the start line on time. That being said - it was a great race with great volunteers - just a few kinks need to be worked out.

Rock & Roll Savannah Half Marathon
Beat my PR by 8 minutes and 45 seconds and just had FUN!
This was an awesome race experience! The people of Savannah really embraced the race and I felt that they cared that we came to visit their city.
The race was very well-managed and there was a lot of clear communication. I felt like the course itself could have gone through some more scenic areas of town, but the spectators made up for lack of scenery.
The rock & roll atmosphere was awesome, really good to keep you pumped up. There were a few bands that were not playing when I went slowly by. I think they were deciding what to play next . . . maybe someone should tell them to pick 4 or 5 good songs and keep repeating them. Seriously, we only passed each band once. :)
This ranks among my top race experiences overall.

Rock and Roll Savannah 1/2
This is a great race. The Town really came together to make the runners welcome. The first half of the race was through the less desirable areas of the City. I had anticipated running through more of the historical district however that was not the case. Despite this this turned out to be one of my favorite races. The water stations were plentiful and the medical aide stations seemed extremely visible. Thankfully I didn't have to visit any of them!

The expo was held in an area that you have to take boat to and clearly this part was not well thought out as the lines and the wait were extremely long. Hopefully the race organizers will re-think this. Also I stayed at the Hyatt the official hotel. If you are going to stay next year DO NOT stay at the Hyatt. There are tons of other hotels in the same area.
