The Muscular Dystrophy Association will receive $20,000. Muscular Dystrophy research has been a major charitable objective of the annual Thanksgiving Day race for more than 50 years. The Manchester Area Conference of Churches and the ECHN Community Healthcare Foundation will each be given checks for $15,000. Donations of $10,000 will be made to MARC Inc., to the Manchester Police Athletic League, and to the Manchester High School Wrestling Team (for new mats). The MRR will also make the following contributions: Foundation for Manchester Public Schools ($5,000); Christmas In April ($4,500); Manchester Child Guidance Clinic ($4,000); Pride in Manchester Week ($4,000); UNICO ($3,000); Manchester Community College ($3,000); Little Theater of Manchester ($3,000); Manchester High School Track Team ($3,000); Hockanum Valley Community Council ($2,500); Lutz Children’s Museum ($1,000); Greater Hartford Legal Aid Foundation ($1,000); Mansfield/Tolland Special Olympics ($1,000); Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut ($1,000); New Hope Manor ($1,000); Manchester High School Cross Country Alumni ($1,000); Manchester Girl’s Travel Basketball ($500); Manchester Bike Search & Rescue Team ($500);Dick Beardsley Foundation ($500); and Manchester Elks ($400). read more
