2011 Boston Marathon
Happy with race. I knew going in my knee[maybe it band] was going to cause some pain. I slowed in the second half to keep the discomfort bearable.

Thank you to all of the people who came out to volunteer for the race. You did a superb job!! I couldn't have done it without you. I had a Great race, on a Perfect day! Thank you Dennis, (2:54:46 finish!!) who instilled a 3:10 finish in me.

Boston Marathon
Absolutely amazing experience. I had hoped for a little better time, but it was a PR and qualified for 2012 by over 7 minutes. Down hills trashed my legs. I needed to simply run 8 minute miles for the last 3 to break 3:25 but just couldn't make my legs move.
I really can't describe the elation of running down Boylston to the finish with those incredible fans cheering.
Hopefully, I will have a chance to repeat and improve next year!

about 1 year agoHey fellow Boston Marathon Runners!
My good friend Eric Derrico is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Co-Founder of Boston Massage Associates on Boylston St. in Back Bay, Boston. Eric has presented me with a unique fundraising opportunity for my "Miles for Miracles" campaign for Children's Hospital. He has agreed to give a significant discount to everyone who mentions me or "Miles for Miracles" and who book their appointments between April 14-28! His regular rate is $120/hr. However, for this fundraiser he will be offering his services for $80/hr and donating $20 for each hour booked to my "Miles for Miracles" campaign.
When Citysearch announced its winners for Best of Boston 2010, Boston Massage Associates was honored as being voted # 1 for Best Thai Massage, Best Deep Tissue Massage, Best Sports Massage and Best Therapeutic Massage. Eric specializes in treating chronic pain sufferers and athletes and has developed a trademark technique that is particularly beneficial to all athletes, but most especially distance runners and other endurance athletes! Eric believes in my cause and wants to do something to help with my fundraising while also aiding my friends and fellow Boston Marathon runners with their training and recovery.

about 1 year ago@Terri B. It's been cold in MN this winter. I'm not excited about a 20-miler outdoors, so I'm following the Hanson's Training Plan for advanced folks. I'm still a little nervous about the mileage, but with 9 weeks to go, it's all or nothing for me. I'm going to start working hills in on Tuesdays starting next week. I've surround by a couple killer ones, so I'm hoping to be okay...as long as the weather cooperates.
