Carlsbad Marathon & Half Marathon Reviews (3)

The weather was perfect for running (upper 50's) along the coast! In Motion did an AMAZING job of organizing this race. I loved how the Marathon and Half Marathon had staggered start times but we all finished together. Great thinking! The shirts were really nice long sleeved technical shirts. The goody bags I would give a B for. I have seen better, I have seen worse.

One of the things that weighs heavy on my race review is the post race nutrition. Today was the top of my list. Everyone who finished received their medal and then walked to a table where all the food was already in bags for us. Bananas, water, Tigers Milk bars, Rice Crispy Treats, Powerbar things?, etc. Then, walking into the expo area, there was even more stuff you could pick and choose from. Excellent!

I would definitely do this race again.

I agree with Caleb. This race was a lot of fun. The weather was ideal. 50's, overcast and I don't remember any significant wind. The cheering fans and funky bands made the miles go by really fast. The water stations were predictable which helped me in my first 1/2 marathon. Well executed race logistics. I would definitely race at Carlsbad again.

While I didn't do as well at the race as I would have liked, Carlsbad put on a great race. There was great support along the course and lots of cheering fans. The course did get a little tight towards the end when the halfers mergered with the full marathoners but it was still managable.

After race snacks were a treat too, especially the pasta and bread sticks they were handing out.
