Mohawk Hudson Half Marathon
Great for a first half. Felt strong for first 9-10 miles, and then it hurt. Beautiful day, great energy, awesome cheering section:)

Wonderful route, great day for a race...
This race has gotten better and better with each passing year. There are more spectators and more volunteers/support along the course. Course was clearly marked, flat and fast. Could have used more restroom stops along the route and the stretch along the residential streets could be better - we were running on the edge of the road which was in disrepair and pretty narrow (I'd try to get that 2-mile stretch of road closed for future races). Great views throughout the course and the final mile is pretty wonderful -- tons of people gathered to cheer you on right at the moment when you're most wanting to walk! Will do this race again, for sure!

2010 Run
This was a great course, the beginning of the 1/2 is a bit of a climb up a very small hill, other than that this flat and fun! Spectaturs spread throughout. beautiful scenery. The port-o-potties are sparse, fine by me since I did not need to stop--but take note! There is one section through a small town where the course is along the road and not closed to traffic but cones--still a bit too close for comfort especially of passing other runners. I loved it and would definitely recommend it. Many thanks to all the volunteers--awesome support!

Checking weather...

Great, thanks Rob! I'm looking forward to seeing the course. I prefer the smaller races so there's not as much hoopla and craziness at the start line - just want to get out there and run!
almost 2 years agoMichelle, did you get an answer to your question yet? I've run this marathon once and the half 6-7 times. Its a very flat and fast course - great for setting a p.r. Its smaller - only about 1000 runners - and there are long stretches without much crowd support, but its a great course. Most of it on shady bike paths, and the last 5 miles are a scenic stretch along the Hudson River. The temperatures are usually cool and comfortable that time of year.
almost 2 years agohas anyone on here ran this marathon before? curious about how flat & fast the course really is. am coming in from out of town so I won't see the course till I get there. also, what's the weather like in october?
