One of the most difficult races in California. It's approximately 8 miles long with a grueling 4,000 foot elevation gain. Starting close to 6,000 foot elevation in The Angeles National Forest with the finish line on the summit of Mt Baldy at 10,064 feet elevation.

Everyone Should Do This.
Spur of the moment, I drove up to the ski area at about 6:30 a.m.. I had thought that that was early, but every other diehard was already there. This was an incredible event and I will note some advice for the novice: Get there early, cash only, bring water, don't overdo it at the start (pre-four miles), smile at the top, and volunteer to help.

![After reaching the summit (10,068 ft elevation) one must turn around and run nearly 3 miles back to the Mt. Baldy Notch (7,800 ft elevation) to the ski lift home. This is the shot from the Notch, where there is [more] oxygen.](http://media.dailymile.com/photo_previews/70265/2a83e97125fe4ccf9a6b98b4dead02e7_preview.jpg)
![Top of the world (ok, top of SoCal and higher than 37 other States) after completing the Run2Top this morning. This is the shot where there is not oxygen. I managed to shave [an unoffication] 7 minutes off last year's endeavor.](http://media.dailymile.com/photo_previews/70255/f721d81b98c998aaadc5e5682c52313d_preview.jpg)
