  Mankato Marathon

  Overall I am happy with the race. I got into a what I thought was a comfortable pace (7:30) and held it for the first 13 miles. Then without any warning my legs refused to play along. I was running along with a pacing partner and when I slowed for water, my legs refused to catch back up. It wasn't mental, didn't feel bad, I just didn't have it any more. I kept plugging away and then around mile 18 my right foot starting bothering me. It's not a blister but it pained me and kept me from chugging any faster. Time to re-consider the choice of shoes.
  Did I have fun, well as much as you can when running for 26.2. I would run this race again. It is a fairly flat course with only 3 hills that made me work.
