The Start and Finish Lines are at the National Museum of the United States Air force, 1100 Spaatz Street, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433. The 5K race is held on September 17, 2010. The Start and Finish line are at the Ervin J. Nutter Center, Wright State University, 3640 Colonel Glenn Highway, Dayton, Ohio 45435. All runners will be required to pick up their runner’s packet (picture ID is required), t-shirt, and goodie bag at the Ervin J. Nutter Center from 12:00 NOON TO 7:00 PM ON Thursday, September 16 and from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 17.   Question about spectators coming to watch 5k

  My cheering section (aka: my husband, kids and mom) will be coming to watch me run the 5k on Friday. My mom is sensitive to heat and is also worried about how far she might have to walk. Does anyone know where spectators for the 5k have to park, how far they will have to walk, and if there is shade?

  Good race, Great aid, Awesome tees, need more pre race bladder care.

  Enjoyed the 1/2 Marathon race. Nice course, the aid and support was fantastic. I always think it would be cool to have a drill sergeant with a mega phone yelling at runners! The race tees Rock and how cool was it to have jets fly over head at the start?? Three disappointments. 1) The total lack of restroom facilities (Pre-race), 2) Fast and Flat? Maybe in the air force you must look at a hill and convince yourself it is as level as a football field, but I on the other hand did not consider the nice "overpass" hill at mile 8 to be very flat AT ALL. Plus, there were a couple other "Little" hills they snuck in there! 3) I'm pretty sure that the mile 13 mile marker was a lie and it was actually at like 12.7 or so.....

  Race Report

  Anyone ever mention running is hard? This half marathon was probably the most physically challenging task I've ever completed. Completed being the operative word, though, as my wife and I were able to complete it. We're glad we finished but not satisfied with the result, which means only one thing - we'll have to run another one to post a better time!
