This race is held to honor Sadiki Young, who was killed as a passenger in a drunk driving accident on January 14, 2007. Sadiki was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and a senior at Wakefield High School. The race starts and finishes by the Church on 120 East Edenton Street i...n downtown Raleigh. Over 400 runners and walkers turned out for the event last year. Brian Dotson took top honors in the 5K race in 17:37. Laura Frey ran 20:06 to win the women’s competition. The course records are held by Brian St. Onge (16:23) and Kasia Sujkowski (18:38). read more
