Co-sponsored by the Bangalore Hash House Harriers and the sports promotion business The Fuller Life, the Kaveri Trail Marathon takes place just north of Mysore on the banks of a small river and irrigation canal near the Srirangapatna Bird Sanctuary. The "trail" is more of... a dirt road, double-track the entire distance, and fairly smooth. The race is nearly flat, with a small elevation gain at about the 8k mark where you move from one irrigation canal to another. The course is an 'out-and-back', so you can see just how fast the winners are as they pass by you on their way home. In 2009 the race started nearly on time, and was both well-attended and well-run. Water stops had plenty of water and cups. Volunteers were plentiful and cheerful. Highly recommended for South India runners. read more

  Well managed marathon

  The run is along the banks of a canal of the river Kaveri.... Its lovely and scenic... But it is a hard one due to humidity, and heat (unless you are lucky with cloud cover). Support is awesome. The aid stations are stocked with electrolyte drinks, glucose biscuits, salted peanuts, PBJ sandwiches, bananas etc. since its organised by good runners themselves, they anticipate needs of the runners and cater well to it. And KTM is easily one of the most well managed marathons in south India

  KTM

  I feel running KTM is difficult than SCMM ..It is not a good place for 900 participants. I did my worst FM time 4.45 here.

  Wow,whew,a REALLY nice,comfortable run @7mins/km throughout,got company fm Ramesh Sesahdri at Halfway mark and he kind of verbally 'shoved' me at the finish to record a dash to end the run.
