  Great race in New Bedford

  Bad - No restrooms along the route, everyone ran behind buildings, dumpsters and trees. Waterfront although beautiful, smelled bad. Run went through some run down parts of city with boarded up buildings.

  Very Good - Majority of roads were shut down with the rest very well controlled by Police. Area restaurants offered specials and free beers to runners after the race. Chowder, sandwiches and showers offered to runners at the local YMCA. D Tag timing meant the starting line delays wouldn't matter to most.

  Great Race, Amazingly Chaotic Start

  Registration/number pickup/bathroom availability was a disaster, which pushed the start back from 11:00 to 11:15. Nothing marked the actual start (11:12) other than someone with a megaphone mumbling and suddenly saying "OK- go". Once everyone got past the starting line, it was a different story- great spectators, great support, and great traffic control. I didn't see any porta-potties along the route, though. A beautiful day made up for the beginning.
