  See Jane Run Women's 5K

  19th in my age division. That was HARD! I started out too fast, not surprisingly, but managed to hold my own and added a little kick at the very last second. All races should end with champagne. All of them.

  Registration was a clusterfudge. When they say "get there two hours early," they aren't kidding. It took 45 minutes to get my bib and chips, and that's after standing in the wrong line at least once.

  The race was not entirely flat, but pretty flat. The Alameda coastline is lovely, and the weather ended up very sunny (too hot for my SF tastes).

  I also discovered, to my horror, that my Nike+ is way, way underreporting my runs; at the end of this certified 5K, it told me I had run FOUR K. So, apparently, I run much faster than I think I do, since I bested my fastest Nike+ 5K time ever by SEVEN MINUTES. It's Garmin time.
