Country Music Nashville Marathon 2010

It's hard for me to even know where to start with my disappointment in this race. FIrst of all I look for my results to find that I am listed as a half marathon finisher after being diverted from the full due to the weather. I would rather be listed as a DNF or on the diverted to half list. I don't want a 3:40 half listed for me. I also question the planning of the starting corrals after the threat of weather was realized. Besides elite half marathon runners people running the half should have been pushed further back and the full marathoners should have been moved up to the first few corrals to ensure that they could finish. This wouldn't have even been that difficult with some coordination of corral volunteers. I personally think I and the rest of the people who paid and ran in the full and were unable to finish deserve some compensation. I understand that the majority of the money made from these races, and let's be honest it's a lot, comes from half marathoners but as a person running the full I think we deserve a little more attention seeing that even if you ran a 4 hour half you would have still finished where as I starting in corral 19, 20 minutes behind the first corral had a much harder time making it to the finish running at the same pace. Which brings me to another point, why am I in corral 19 surrounded by walkers when my estimated time is 4:30? There should have to be some proof that you can keep at least close to the pace you're putting down on your registration, even if it's just a 5k or 10k time from earlier in the season. A person who just guesses they can run a 3:30 marathon and never has doesn't really need to be 6 corrals ahead of me who knows my time and writes it in honestly. There should be qualifying times for each corral, the peachtree road race in atlanta has them why wouldn't a marathon? I hope that if I ever decide to do a rock n roll marathon again some of these issues can be addressed and remedied. Other than that, I will be OK in a few days :-)
