Race Report
Started in the 1:45 (blue zone) and for the first couple of miles pretty much overtook everyone in sight (was liberal use of the pavements) trying to find a space. It wasn't until around mile 8 that I was running with people the same pace, and managed to latch onto a few faster runners when my motivation was dropping. The last 3-4 miles were very, very hard, and my hip which had been aching throughout was hurting. My final spurt at around mile 10 was to beat Batman (there was no way I was letting anyone in facy dress beat me, lol), and the rest was just concentrating on turning the legs, and concentrating on breathing. When I came into the stadium and saw the gun-time of 1:38 on the clock, a final 200m sprint was in order. My target was 1:44 and my Official CHIP time was 1:35! Very happy with the result.
