2010 Children's TLC Hunt Midwest Groundhog Run 10k
Great race today. And to my surprise and delight, another PR!
So the first mile I realized was way too fast. Second I really thought was slower. Third, started to notice oxygen debt so pulled up a bit. (My wife told me at the half way point I really looked like I was struggling). And I felt that way too. I convinced myself to keep the pack I was with in sight and just relax back for miles 4 and 5 and then see what I had for the last 1.2. With about 1 mile left I hooked up with a runner who had caught up to me and we just pushed each other to the finish.
What a great event!

What a unique race!
I had two friends drive up from Wichita to do this race and along with two from KC we all made it a part of a fun weekend. Great and unique race for sure! Might be niece to have some clocks at a few more points as I think pacing was a little tough. Overall great crowd and good race.

Second Time Around
This was my second Groundhog run 5K. It was congested the first 1/2 mile, because we were all trying to stay within the cones. But after that it was a good time. the course is flat with no wind (it is all indoors) it was cool to be in that environment and still not feel confined. They did a good job of organizing this race. Although, they do need more bathroom spots at the start.

came from FLORIDA.1st time running this race ran the 10k very fun plan to come back next year wish their were more clocks though but overall great

Yes there are mile markers but not always accurate. For the 10k, it's a two loop course. Last year, I seem to remember that miles 1&4 were a little long while 2 & 5 were short.
over 2 years agoSo I'm guessing my trusty Garmin is not going to work during the Groundhog Run right? Can someone tell me if there are mile markers?
