  2. #dailymission my mantra? F#%k the pain! So sorry, but it's the Jersey in me,and its highly effective.

      I would think that mantra would work better with a man...but then again most men are pains!

      It helped get me through 50 mi and it will help me get through 100 mi where I expect twice as much pain =:-0

      I had to edit this, as I actually typed what I say to myself in dire times. Being a teacher makes you sensible about over-sharing. At times.

      Tough mental strategies. I agree that going into "running machine" mode can get you through the workout.

      It's corny but I sing "the ant's go marching" in my head through my tough spots - it's forces my cadence and it takes my mind off whatever is kicking me.

    I remind myself that I have done more than this and faster than this. I tell myself this is nothing!

      Oh my goodness! I forgot about this very important reminder to myself. This is a good one. I use to tell myself that a year or so back when I was training heavily. Good one!
