lol by get there I mean physically get there, not where it is. The trains to and from would cost as much as the event!

Can't wait to follow your progress as you train for that triathlon. I've been wanting to get into them for awhile, but don't own a bike. haha! I'm training for a couple of indoor sprint tri's in the next couple of months though. Oh..and the Met...hopefully I'll meet you there next year! I'm so up for that challenge.

Awsome! The Met isn't something I'd push people to but it's fantastic. It's what started me in aerobic fitness. But every time I do it it goes something like this..... Floor one... I'm gonna rock this! Floor 9 .... Hmmm adrenoline just wore off.... Floor 19.... crap! I'm not even half way.... Floor 30.... Kill me now!!!! I can't breath.... It's a coast in from that point to the finish line. When you finish you just want to collapse, or hurl, or both. Good times :-)

lol! I have a feeling that is how it would go for me too! Husband and I always try to "race" other tourists when climbing a lot of steps in a church or something (and yes even the Eiffel Tower) so the Met definitely appeals to me.

Thanks but the reality is that I will probably place farther down than in the 65-69 age group. The reason is there are fewer riders (just 6 last year) Two of last years riders have signed up. One pulled out at 96 mi and the other? Well he won the group with 365.2 miles! One consolation proffered by a friend is that in the older age groups, only the best survive to ride in the race.

The problem with a lot of athletic events and the more mature age groups is the chaff have dwindled and you are left with quality!

  11. #dailymission Either the Blue Ridge Relay or the Chatanooga Stage Race...or it could be the race against myself to stay healthy and listen to my body more!

I'll go with the 3rd option, except I get frustrated listening to my body - it doesn't seem to speak English, neither Queen's nor Transatlantic. On 2nd thoughts, staying healthy doesn't seem to be an option, so I'll have to go for getting as fit as possible DESPITE whatever health problems come my way.
