#dailymission I don't think I qualify for the "super Daily Miler" status BUT I do eat a bagel with peanut butter race day morning. It's comforting and yummy :)

No food!! No food is the difference between "only" gagging and puking as I dig deep in the last bit of a race. ^^ -

#dailymission Mexican food the evening prior or coffee that morning. Not good at all before a big race or a long run!

#dailymission Race-day Kryptonite? A heaping plate of pork tartare and a tumbler of Old Mr Boston vodka (neat). Theoretically speaking, of course.

Coffee in the morning does that to me, too. Actually one of the things I like best about it! So no, I wouldn't be drinking it before a race, either. I save it to wash down the after-race pancakes with the family :-)

Also, this reminded me of the midnight race I did. There were a couple of college guys near me at the start who were absolutely bombed and I'm pretty sure they had tequila in their hand held bottles. I never saw them after the start - they finished far, far ahead of me. Ah, to be young.

I like instant oat flakes with milk 3 hours before a race (now since I'm a vegan I'd replace the milk with soy milk). It is easily digestible and gives me energy for about 10k.
