What is the worst training "mistake" you have made? Share your experience and help save a fellow DMer from the same fate.

  1. #dailymission...hill repeats on a Wednesday after speedwork on Tuesday and distance on Sunday...stupid is as stupid does! Well hello there strained for 3 months Mr. IT Band!

      bummer dude, keep you head up. a strained IT band led me to barefoot running 4 or 5 years ago (before it was cool). adjusting my running form completely got rid of it.

  2. #dailymission Too stubborn to take a rest day. I lost fitness, sleep (little enough without a streak included), temporary loss of passion to run.

      Is it your daily mission to avoid those things? Taking a rest day,here and there doesn't mess up your running streak, it refreshes you, so you can keep it going....

      Ah - ok, i read your post wrong - good for you for taking those rest days! Now you'll be able to enjoy your runs even more. Vacation in Chenango?

      Yeah, finishing up there anyway. Just spent 3 days at Darien Lake. (not the same now that it's not 6flags anymore) Love the room at the D-L Lodge-get to see the laser show and fireworks over the water, very cool.

  7. #dailymission Going too hard, too fast and suffering a broken foot because of it. I was down for 8 months, including cast, crutches, and physical therapy. I will pace myself this time.

      Hey Tory! Good to see you back. What type of fracture did you have? I am recovering from a Jones fracture, happened almost 8 weeks ago. I'm walking now, in the cast, and should be out of it next week.

      the essay is not difficult. i joined in 1997, which sbl (then known as dss) was still tiny. basically, they want to make sure you understand what the group is about, and what it is not.
