Gear review: Bikila LS Vibram 5 Fingers

The dailymile lab is a group of dailymilers from the team who work with sponsors to test drive products. Check out gear reviews. If you have a product you’d like us to review, email our sponsorship team. Right out of the box I have to say that the Bikila LS is the easiest Vibram 5 Fingers model I have ever slipped on my feet. The chief complaint I have heard has been trying to stuff toes into the individual pockets. … Continue reading

Gear Review: Yurbuds Ironman Series

Today we have two reviews of the Ironman Series Yurbuds. I’ve been there before, and I know a lot of you have also: on your run when one (or both) of your headphones conks out on you. It usually happens about 3-6 months into their lifespan. It’s for this reason that I continually buy cheap headphones. I know that buying the cheap brands doesn’t make much sense logically because quality is an assumed compromise, but I’ve struggled with expensive brands … Continue reading

That’s why having tools like Road ID … Continue reading

We eat GU: GU Roctane and GU Chomps review

Eating calories on a long run is a no-brainer. So as endurance athletes, we’re constantly trying out new types of fuel during our training runs so that we know what works when it comes time to run a marathon or beyond. When it comes down to it, GU is goo. While they all seem to boast roughly the same amount of calories, and some have caffeine (some don’t), the flavor is what helps keep the GU from coming back up … Continue reading

Running shoe review: Saucony Fastwitch 4 vs. Brooks ST 5

Off the bat I have to admit, I am not a white running shoe kinda guy.  I like color.  Both of the Saucony Fastwitch 4 and the Brooks ST 5 shoes are for people that like color on their feet.  Saucony has played with color and put out some fun shoes and great designs.  My shoe pick of 2010 the Saucony Kinvara comes in some great color choices including fluorescent lime green and their brand color ViziPro, a fluorescent orange.  … Continue reading

Razzyroo headband review

This week we have a gear test for the ladies (and style-ey guys who have long hair out there). Razzyroo headbands are for the “Sassy Sporty Gal.” They’re headbands made to keep your hair back and not slip off your head while you’re running a race. They’re pretty stylish too! Kristin K., Krista L., Haley C. and I got a chance to test them out. Here’s a little about our gear testers: Kristin K. is from Madison, Wisconsin. She’s a runner … Continue reading
