Here is what our dailymile lab team had to say:
1. What are your overall impressions of the NordicTrack 1750?
Caleb M. “Excellent treadmill that I would highly recommend to people looking for an all-around model. It has a great mix of performance and features. In particular, the one-touch speed and incline controls are a great asset to me as I use the treadmill for pacing practice and race simulation. Additionally, the ease of integrating an external device (iPod or iPad) made the treadmill something that both my wife and I liked to use. The iFit features provide extra benefit and workout capabilities. The cushioning and sturdiness of the deck were solid, even at the fastest speeds on the treadmill. My main issue was with the speed limits associated with the decline. The ability to turn these speed limits off would be valuable, and would make the run more safe for someone that spends most of their time running at 9.5+ mph on the treadmill.”
Kristen F. “This is a solid treadmill. It was easy to assemble and it was very easy to ‘learn.’ I loved that it integrated with an online training system and that every feature seemed like a “one button” task.”
Brodie W. “Overall, really happy and impressed with some of the key features. Could handle speed and the ifit integration was great with the wifi.”
Thomas N. “I was expecting something less than the industrial strength treadmills I use at the gym. I was surprised at the great feel of the deck and all the cool bells and whistles like, built in fan, built in speakers, ipod connect and the touch screen control panel. Running on the treadmill was a better experience than I have had on the treadmills at my gym. The quadflex suspension was a little odd at first but then I really liked the cushioning during my miles on the treadmill. I also found out I enjoy doing speed work on the mill, it is a great way to see and control how fast you are running.”
2. In a scale from 1-5, five being the highest score, Compared to other treadmills you have run on how does the NordicTrack 1750 stack up?
Caleb M. 4
Kristen F. 4
Brodie W. 4
Thomas N. 4
3. What Speed range did you typically run at? Did you find that the treadmill motor could keep up with your needs?
Caleb M. “Generally warmups around 8-9 mph, pacing at 10+ mph. The ride was smooth and I felt safe at all speeds, even when hitting 12 mph for short bursts.”
Kristen F. “I usually find myself in the in 7:40 – 7:10 range and did feel the 1750 was able to keep up with me. There were a few times I felt the tread slipping slightly but this was mainly when the TM was first started up and rarely happened anywhere after.”
Brodie W. “I enjoyed the speed of the treadmill, low as 4 miles per hour to 11 miles per hour. I used the treadmill for tempo/speed work and it did just fine. The big difference was on the gym treadmills I can go as high as 12/13 mph and not worry I would break something.”
Thomas N. “between 7-9 mph The treadmill had plenty of power for me.”
4. What are your thoughts on iFit?
Caleb M. “iFit brings a lot of added value to the treadmill, especially with the easy-to-use companion website. The only changes I would make are centered on customization of workouts. It would be very valuable to be able to select a workout from a saved list once logged into the treadmill, rather than needing to put a workout at the top of the list before getting on the treadmill. Integration with other services (Garmin Connect, MapMyRun, etc.) would also be valuable as many people use other mapping/GPS sites frequently.”
Kristen F. “iFit is a helpful tool but I feel overall the service itself could offer more in terms of data mining. There is plenty of “at-a-glance” data but it would be great to see more break downs available – examples: A break down of each run, by pace per mile and breakdowns of individual workouts.”
Brodie W. “This is a great application but needs some improvements. Overall great concept but it needs some enhancements for normal runners. The ifit live workouts don’t have many pre-set options and the terrain match up was limited.”
Thomas N. “I enjoyed using some of the trail workouts. I didn’t like the machine controlling the speed.”
5. What was your favorite feature of the Treadmill?
Caleb M. “The smooth and consistent ride at higher speeds in conjunction with the one-touch controls made it easy to use for faster pacing workouts.”
Kristen F. “I absolutely loved that after setting up Wifi on the TM and hooking up my iFit account, that each morning, I touched one button and had all of my planned workouts already queued up. I also LOVED that the data from my run was automatically emailed to me in a summary email upon completion. Throughout the years I have always had to make a point of memorizing or writing down my mileage and time after finishing a TM run and sometimes, I would space and forget. Not having to worry about that is priceless.”
Brodie W. “It had to be the ifit live, so nice to pick a map and download to the treadmill. I would strongly recommend the live version to make it more interesting for training.”
Thomas N. “It’s hard to pick one…The quadflex suspension smooth ride.”
