Who doesn’t love Spring and who doesn’t love running shoes? We all need new kicks when the race season starts. Gear Review: Yurbuds Ironman Series
Today we have two reviews of the Ironman Series Yurbuds. I’ve been there before, and I know a lot of you have also: on your run when one (or both) of your headphones conks out on you. It usually happens about 3-6 months into their lifespan. It’s for this reason that I continually buy cheap headphones. I know that buying the cheap brands doesn’t make much sense logically because quality is an assumed compromise, but I’ve struggled with expensive brands … Continue reading

Rudy Project: Sterling Helmet review
Rudy Project: Sterling Cycling Helmet Review A short while ago I received and reviewed a race kit sent to me by Rudy Projects. It was a great experience and their race kit has become a staple in my usual ‘go-to’ training gear options. There’s a lot to be said for well-made, reliable training gear that you can count on and the Rudy Projects products I reviewed exceeded all of my expectations. With that said, you can imagine how thrilled I … Continue reading

According to Pearl Izumi: “The new Streak II has been completely overhauled this season to be even faster, lighter and more performance-oriented than ever. With a new lower profile midsole and lightweight upper, the … Continue reading

Newton shoe review: Lady Isaacs vs. Gravity
Last June I started training for my first marathon. As I increased my training mileage, I developed a nasty case of plantar fasciitis that has plagued me ever since. I did everything I was ‘supposed’ to do to help remedy the problem: visited a podiatrist and a sports medicine doc, bought shoe inserts and custom orthotics, ART, cortisone shot, deep tissue massage, took time off, ultrasounds, and physical therapy. None of these relieved my symptoms. During this time I was … Continue reading

gear review: Road ID
Staying safe on the road or the trail is just as important as getting out there and running. Whether you’re running through a city at night, or on a trail by yourself, it’s important to take safety precautions like, no music, watch for traffic, run with a friend, tell someone your course and when you’ll be home, etc. But taking safety the extra mile can give runners a lot of peace of mind. That’s why having tools like Road ID … Continue reading
