Nick Clark, elite ultra runner – a dailymile community interview
Recently, I had the opportunity to conduct an email interview with elite ultra runner, Nick Clark. Nick is a Pearl Izumi sponsored athlete making a bit of a splash in the ultra running world. Having proven his abilities in a range of road and trail races over the last several years, he made his 100 mile debut at the Bighorn Trail 100 in 2009 with a second place finish. He continued to put up impressive numbers at a range of … Continue reading

Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run
It’s with great excitement that I get to introduce our guest author today, Steve Pero. Steve has a long history with ultra marathons, and has many plus 26.2 distance races under his belt. But perhaps the most dangerous, exhilarating, ambitious, and therefore most fun ultramarathon of them all is the Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run. It’ll probably embarrass him to know that I’ve read about his ultramarathon career on several blogs as well as in the book Running Through the … Continue reading

Featured dailymiler: Running Podcaster Raymond King
I have an on-again, off-again relationship with running podcasts. Sometimes I really enjoy listening to them on runs, other times I prefer music, and sometimes I just prefer to just run sans-headphones and enjoy the sounds of my surroundings. Lately, one podcast has been a weekly must-listen for me – it’s a show called Geeks in Running Shoes. Hosted by Raymond King and Jason Kehl, the show tells the story of two self-proclaimed geeks as they navigate their way through … Continue reading

Martin P’s Photo Album
I know Martin P. because his name tops off my leader board every week. Take a look at his training stream and you’ll see why. Martin is running 250 marathons in 2010 to raise $250,000 for Right to Play, benefiting children all over the world. Martin does most of his runs near his house in Calgary, but also does a few marathons around the states. As you can imagine, he sees a lot of funny stuff along the way and … Continue reading

Meet a dailymiler: Greg S.
I’m hoping this post will begin a new series here on the dailymile Community Blog. While dailymile workout updates are fantastic for keeping up with the fitness-related lives of our friends, sometimes I find myself wanting to know a little more about the people that I have befriended here. Recently I discovered a series of posts by Greg S. on his blog, Predawn Runner, in which he interviewed fellow dailymilers Brian A., Brendan M., Susan D., and Nils A. – … Continue reading
