Pearl Izumi Streak II Review
A little over a month ago a few members of the dailymile team each received a pair of Pearl Izumi shoe to review. We tried out the Streak II and the IsoTransition models. Reviewers were all asked the same questions. Let’s start with the Streak II. According to Pearl Izumi: “The new Streak II has been completely overhauled this season to be even faster, lighter and more performance-oriented than ever. With a new lower profile midsole and lightweight upper, the … Continue reading

Newton shoe review: Lady Isaacs vs. Gravity
Last June I started training for my first marathon. As I increased my training mileage, I developed a nasty case of plantar fasciitis that has plagued me ever since. I did everything I was ‘supposed’ to do to help remedy the problem: visited a podiatrist and a sports medicine doc, bought shoe inserts and custom orthotics, ART, cortisone shot, deep tissue massage, took time off, ultrasounds, and physical therapy. None of these relieved my symptoms. During this time I was … Continue reading

gear review: Road ID
Staying safe on the road or the trail is just as important as getting out there and running. Whether you’re running through a city at night, or on a trail by yourself, it’s important to take safety precautions like, no music, watch for traffic, run with a friend, tell someone your course and when you’ll be home, etc. But taking safety the extra mile can give runners a lot of peace of mind. That’s why having tools like Road ID … Continue reading

Running shoe review: Saucony Fastwitch 4 vs. Brooks ST 5
Off the bat I have to admit, I am not a white running shoe kinda guy. I like color. Both of the Saucony Fastwitch 4 and the Brooks ST 5 shoes are for people that like color on their feet. Saucony has played with color and put out some fun shoes and great designs. My shoe pick of 2010 the Saucony Kinvara comes in some great color choices including fluorescent lime green and their brand color ViziPro, a fluorescent orange. … Continue reading

Razzyroo headband review
This week we have a gear test for the ladies (and style-ey guys who have long hair out there). Razzyroo headbands are for the “Sassy Sporty Gal.” They’re headbands made to keep your hair back and not slip off your head while you’re running a race. They’re pretty stylish too! Kristin K., Krista L., Haley C. and I got a chance to test them out. Here’s a little about our gear testers: Kristin K. is from Madison, Wisconsin. She’s a runner … Continue reading

Ninja running: a how to
It’s that time of year again! Unless you live in the south, the season of the ninja is upon you! What is the season of the ninja, you ask?
